Ian Howells BA (Hons)

Member and Head of Conveyancing

Ian is Head of the firm’s Residential Conveyancing

and Family departments.

He joined the firm in 1973 and after

completing his training qualified in 1976.

Throughout his career he has specialised in

Property and Family work. He is a member of the Property

Section of the Law Society.

His own caseload is mainly Conveyancing but includes all types of property work. He also deals with the property work in matrimonial and cohabitation cases.

In recent years he has dealt with a number of Property Litigation cases including access to

neighbouring land and boundary disputes.

Ian manages the Family Department working with the fee earners to ensure service standards are met.

After being responsible for opening the firm’s Culcheth office in 1978, he spent 25 years there building the reputation of the office and expanding the client base. He relocated to our Atherton office in 2003, before  moving to Leigh with the Residential Conveyancing team in 2007, where he is now based. He was responsible for securing the firms Conveyancing Quality Scheme accreditation with the Law Society in March 2011.

He is a Rotary Club member, enjoys golf, walking and watching amateur rugby league.

His spare time is spent with his family and his three grand children keep him busy at weekends!
